MasterCraft trumpets innovation for transactionsPosted on
MasterCraft of Vonore, Tenn., recently unveiled “a breakthrough online tool” for its supplier network.
This new Web-based technology, created and built entirely in-house, has been exclusively designed and developed for suppliers as a “one-stop shopping” and “self-service” destination for major transactions. This includes payment/invoice lookup, order history, monthly statements, demand forecasts and access to important communications and informational downloads from MasterCraft.
This technology “helped our company by taking waste out of the procurement process, and it takes the cost out for suppliers, which reduces cost for us,” said John Dorton, president and CEO of MasterCraft, in a telephone interview this morning.
Also, the tool helped MasterCraft plan its year better so it could reduce the build-up of finished goods, Dorton said.
“In today’s business environment, offering efficiencies to valued partners is paramount if you want to remain competitive and excel,” said David Kirkland, chief information officer of MasterCraft, in a statement. “On the sales side, we created DealerLink so our partners in the dealer network could interact with us as effectively and proficiently as possible. We have simply carried that idea over to SuppliLink so our suppliers don’t lose any time on e-mail or the phone tracking down information vital to their business — it is now all available at one Web address.”
SuppliLink allows MasterCraft vendors to log on to an account and view important communications, download important documentation such as schematic drawings, view POs and orders, view invoice and payment status and see forecasts for future demand. And, according to Richie Brashears, programming services manager, even more features are expected in the next few months.
“SuppliLink will eventually be very feature-rich with elements like monthly statements, ACH payments, PO price and quantity validation, quality information documentation, vendor ratings, quote or bid requests and cost reduction proposals,” Brashears said in a statement.
SuppliLink has recently finished Beta testing and MasterCraft will spend the next two months rolling out this program internally and to a majority of its suppliers.
