Trade group votes to promote Georgia lakesPosted on
The Marine Trades Association of Metro Atlanta cast “a huge vote” at its recent meeting to help in the recovery of the marine sales business.
By a majority vote of 99 percent, members decided to spend $100,000 to promote Lake Lanier, Lake Allatoona and other lakes in the metro Atlanta region over a four-month period.
“We have a win-win solution to help promote our dealers and our lakes”, said Bill Sommerfield, president of MTA of Metro Atlanta and vice president of Lazy Days Marina, Lake Lanier, Buford, Georgia. “We want to get the word out in Georgia that we have water in our lakes and to come out to our dealers to check out new boats.”
A major marketing event will take place this fall. Holiday Marina and JOA Marine are offering their dock space for a large in-water boat show for all members of MTA of Metro Atlanta.
