WeatherBug adds boat section to Web site

Posted on

WeatherBug, a provider of live, local weather information for consumer and professional users, launched a beach and boating section on its desktop application and Weatherbug.com Web site.

The new section is sponsored by Take Me Fishing, which encourages people to rediscover the joys of boating and fishing.

WeatherBug’s beach and boating section includes detailed weather data and information based on city and U.S. zip code and is presented along with hourly, daily and weekly forecasts from WeatherBug’s team of meteorologists.

Beach and boating safety tips and videos, as well as a community section for people to download their favorite photos and videos, are also part of the new section.

“Tracking weather is such a huge part of planning a boat trip or beach vacation that we wanted to make sure we brought these tools to our site,” said Michael Lombardi, WeatherBug vice president of advertising sales and marketing, in a statement. “Whether it is helping them to plan their day or stay informed during a severe weather event, providing relevant, precise local weather information to our users is what WeatherBug is all about.”

The site can be viewed at http://weatherbug.com.
