Jim Renfrow was appointed vice president of sales at Fairline Florida. Renfrow brings experience and knowledge of the boat sales environment to his new position. He previously worked directly for Fairline for more than five years.
“While I have enjoyed working with other companies over the years, selling a global premium brand such as Fairline has always been hugely rewarding,” Renfrow said in a statement “The brand has impressive customer loyalty, a reputation for excellence of design and build and a truly global presence in 36 countries.”
Fairline Florida is based at the Lauderdale Marine Center in the heart of Fort Lauderdale and, with its sister dealership Fairline Chesapeake, employs 19 people across its sales, brokerage and service business.

The Marine Electronics Group of Johnson Outdoors hired Bruce Angus as business development director. He will lead the development of new products to address targeted expansion areas for the company.
The Marine Electronics Group develops, markets and distributes products under the Humminbird, Geonav, Minn Kota and Cannon brands.
Angus’s career has spanned all aspects of marine navigation and communications products in the worldwide commercial and recreational sectors. Prior to joining Johnson Outdoors, he held executive positions at Navionics, Northstar, Laser Plot and Sperry Marine.
He also serves on the board of the National Marine Electronics Association.

Harken Yacht Equipment announced the appointment of two new employees.
Stefano Castagna was named global human resources manager. This newly created position is designed to build teamwork and better coordination between Harken’s expanding family of wholly owned offices.
Castagna will be based out of Harken Italy’s office in Lurago Marinone and will be responsible for strategic planning and support of Harken’s human resources initiatives throughout all Harken operations.
Castagna brings to Harken an international human resources consulting background, having worked as a senior consultant with two leading Italian-based HR consulting firms: Core Consulting S.p.A and Learning Systems S.p.A. He also is an avid sailor, having won the 2006 IMS Italian championships.
Wes Wilcox was named senior engineering director of product research and development. This newly created engineering role is designed to increase the rate of new product introductions and expanded research and development programs.
Wilcox joins Harken from Trek Bicycle Corp., where he was the company’s director of advanced research and development.
Wilcox will be based in Harken’s Pewaukee, Wis., office and will manage any reorganization and modernization process by establishing Harken USA’s “future state direction” for the company’s R&D. He will be responsible for strategic planning and support of all R&D efforts.
Aside from his background in engineering and R&D, Wilcox also is a longtime sailor, racing both single- and double-handed catamarans and DN Iceboats.
