Dallas boat show spread over six days

Posted on

The 2008 Dallas Summer Boat Show will offer six days of boating, education, family fishing events, wakeboarding rail demonstrations and more than 800 boats on display, including luxury liners, powerboats, pontoons, fishing boats, water toys and aquatic gear.

The show will be held July 18-20 and July 25-27 at the Dallas Market Hall. Admission is free to any military servicemen with an identification card.

The first weekend of the show will focus on fishing and the outdoors with activities such as live catfish fishing, casting contests, boat and water safety seminars and additional hands-on events for the entire family. Also on tap is the Salute the Troops Bass Challenge, which partners wounded soldiers with pro anglers.

The second weekend is dedicated to wakeboarding and water sports with the wakeboarding rail jam event. The three-pool course includes a 40-foot rail coming out of a raised starting pool and ending in a 60-by-30-foot landing pool.
