Dometic donates battery to Glacier SocietyPosted on
Dometic Environmental of Pompano Beach, Fla., contributed a Sentry battery charger to The Glacier Societys whaleboat, the Arctic Gayle. Located in Fort Lauderdale, the boat is being used to train sea cadets.
Dometic has contributed a number of products to support The Glacier Societys mission to restore the 300-foot icebreaker, Glacier, and some of its companion boats. Dometic also has aided in the rebuild of the Arctic Scout, a 40-foot arctic survey boat that was once originally aboard the Glacier, by supplying the microwave, refrigerator, air conditioning, battery chargers and other products.
This project wouldnt exist without Dometic, said Ben Koether, chairman for The Glacier Society, in a statement. He said Dometic spearheaded the donations from other companies. As a result, we were able to completely rebuild the 40-foot Arctic Scout through contributions.
Ben and The Glacier Society exemplify what a great nation we live in by restoring historic Navy vessels and developing south Florida youths through the Sea Cadet program, said Frank Marciano, president of Dometic Environmental in a statement.
