Sea Sense, the St. Petersburg, Fla.-based women’s sailing and powerboating school, is expanding into San Diego with a sailing course slated for October.
“The San Diego area offers a great sailing experience in one of the most popular regions in the country,” said Capt. Patti Moore, co-founder of Sea Sense, in a statement.
This liveaboard course provides a range of hands-on instruction. Subjects include seamanship, sail trim, helmsmanship, engine maintenance, knots, man-overboard prevention and recovery, close-quarters maneuvering and docking, navigation and cruise planning. The course will be taught aboard a fully equipped sloop in the 40 foot range.
The class departs from San Diego and will be held Oct. 5-11. The cost of $2,795 includes instruction, on-board accommodations and most meals.
