Brunswick awards employee scholarships

Posted on

Brunswick Corp. and the Brunswick Foundation recently awarded $56,000 in scholarships to assist with college tuition fees for 28 sons and daughters of dealer employees who participate in Brunswick Dealer Advantage.

The number of awards increased from last year to accommodate the expansion of the Brunswick Dealer Advantage program, which qualifies marine dealers in the United States and Canada, as well as Brunswick Billiards dealers and Life Fitness dealers in both countries.

Students eligible for scholarships include those whose parents are employees of dealerships that sell qualified Brunswick brands and participate as Gold or Platinum dealers in Brunswick Dealer Advantage.

Scholarships were awarded based on the applicant’s academic record and leadership abilities as demonstrated by extracurricular activities. Recipients were selected by an impartial, external committee comprising academic professionals from Northwestern University, Notre Dame, and Marquette. The $2,000 scholarships apply toward achievement of baccalaureate degrees.

“For more than 50 years, the Brunswick Foundation has contributed to the charitable interests of its employees and the communities in which they live,” said Adrian Sakowicz, president of the Brunswick Foundation and Brunswick’s vice president of strategic partnerships, in a statement. “Our contribution to the Dealer Sons and Daughters scholarship program helps prepare our next generation of leaders.”
