DEALER DIGEST

Nautic Global Group, the Elkhart, Ind.-based manufacturer of Rinker and Godfrey boats, recently completed its second dealer meeting of the summer, introducing dealers to a “fury of new products.”

With more than 15 new models, improvements to existing lines, and the addition of two new lines, NGG says it has accelerated its product development cycle and positioned itself to continue to capture market share in its key boat categories: pontoon boats, deck boats, sportboats, cruisers, and aluminum and fiberglass fishing boats.

“We’re focused on innovation and providing our dealers with tools they need to win in today’s marketplace,” said CEO Bob Moran, in a statement. “As a company we’re investing in human resources, improved dealer partnerships and sophisticated market intelligence.”

For model year 2009, Godfrey Marine and Rinker dealers will have two new fiberglass fishing-boat lines to offer: the Hurricane Fishing Series, with five new models, and Atlantic Sportfishing Boats, with six new models.

In other news, Godfrey Marine dealers celebrated 50 years at the boatbuilder’s late-July dealer meeting in South Bend, Ind. More than 20 dealers were honored for long-term (more than 25 years) commitments to Godfrey. The builder said more dealers attended the meeting than last year, nearly two times the vendors exhibited, and boat orders exceeded expectations.

A Fresh Tack LLC of Severna Park, Md., has named four Chesapeake Bay retailers as dealers for the company’s Nettle Net Boat Pools, which can be used from boats or docks to protect swimmers free from stinging sea nettles and jellyfish.

The new dealers are Fawcett Boat Supplies, Annapolis, Md.; Haven Harbor Marina, Rock Hall, Md.; Breezy Point Marina, Chesapeake Beach, Md.; and Port Kinsale Marina, Kinsale, Va.

Available in 8-, 12- and 20-foot diameters, the 8-foot deep portable pools have netting attached to a flotation ring to form a barrier that nettles and jellyfish can’t pass through.
