Florida marine summit starts next weekPosted on
Several Florida marine industry groups will meet Sept. 24 in Palm Beach, Fla., for the 10th annual Marine Summit. The event runs from 1-5 p.m. at the Palm Beach County Convention Center.
The keynote speakers are incoming Florida State Senate president Jeff Atwater and House majority leader Adam Hasner.
Topics include: state of the industry reports from marine industry association presidents, marine education and workforce issues, technology center development and information on Amendment 6, which would allow for the appraisal of marinas and other properties based on current use, not highest and best use.
The marine industries contribute more than $13.5 billion annually to the economy of South Florida.
