Groups team up for sportfishing ethics programPosted on
BoatU.S. and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service have teamed up to reinforce the values of sportfishing through a public information campaign called “Ethical Angler.”
The campaign is built around a code of responsible fishing practices developed by BoatU.S. that both organizations will promote. BoatU.S. chairman and founder Richard Schwartz and Fish and Wildlife Service director H. Dale Hall signed a memorandum of understanding, agreeing to utilize the code as a public outreach reminder that recreational anglers are partners in fishery conservation.
BoatU.S. plans to make “Ethical Angler” the conservation centerpiece for its BoatU.S. Angler membership program, which offers services, supports safe boating efforts and helps protect the interests of boat-owning anglers.
