Flood watches were in effect Sunday in parts of Texas and Louisiana, as well as parts of Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana and Michigan, as the remnants of Ike headed north, the National Hurricane Center reported.

Ike was expected to continue on this path today and move into Canada, northern New York and northern New England.
