ID card enrollment available at Fort Lauderdale showPosted on
The Marine Industries Association of South Florida will host a Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC) enrollment center at this year’s Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
The center will facilitate registration of U.S. Coast Guard-licensed mariners and others who are required by recent changes in regulations to have a TWIC, and to also serve as a source of information and outreach for the program.
TWIC is an identification credential for all personnel requiring unescorted access to secure areas of Maritime Transportation Security Administration-regulated facilities and vessels, and all U.S. mariners holding Coast Guard-issued credentials.
The center will be located in the Marine Professional Inc. headquarters in the southwest corner of the Seabreeze building at the Bahia Mar. It will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Oct. 29-Nov. 2 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 3 The cost is $132.50.
Visit the Transportation Security Administration Web site for information, or call (866) 347-8942.
