Special issue marks Sea magazine’s centennial

Posted on

Sea magazine is celebrating its 100th year of publication with a historic commemorative issue in October.

The West Coast magazine, originally known as Pacific Motor Boat, was first published by Miller Freeman, of Seattle, in 1908. Pacific Motor Boat and Sea merged in 1952. The combined publication was called Sea and Pacific Motor Boat until 1973, when the name was changed to Sea.

Sea has missed only one issue in its entire history, December 1944, because of a change in publishers.
