Attwood Marine to unveil new fuel systems at IBEX

Posted on

Parts and accessories provider Attwood Marine is working with the Stant Corp. to develop fuel systems capable of meeting upcoming emissions regulations.

Based in Connersville, Ind., Stant manufactures automotive fuel systems and related components. Through the long-term design, manufacturing and distribution partnership, Attwood will serve as Stant’s exclusive partner in the marine industry and lead the development of fuel systems that meet upcoming regulations from the California Air Resources Board and the Environmental Protection Agency.

“While marine fuel systems have remained relatively simple and unchanged for many years, new regulations will require a significant increase in their complexity to function effectively,” said Chris Drees, president of Lowell, Mich.-based Attwood, in a statement.

Attwood will demonstrate the first steps of the program at IBEX next week, where it will introduce the first generation marine carbon canister system intended to meet the CARB requirements beginning in January.
