Lance Brown was appointed vice president of business development at Glacier Bay Inc., the Union City, Calif.-based manufacturer of power and thermal management technologies.

Brown will be responsible for the development of new products based on the Glacier Bay OSSA Powerlite platform.

A licensed California yacht and ship broker, he comes to Glacier Bay from Santa Cruz Yachts, where he was general manager. He previously worked as a systems designer and production manager with yacht designer Bill Lee. Brown holds a degree in industrial technology from California Polytechnic State University.

“His vast experience and success in the highly competitive marine market means Lance always thinks of the customer’s needs first and has a significant track record of knowing how to solve their problems,” said CEO Marc Hoffman, in a statement.

Mark Lamm will retire at the end of this year from Fusion Electronics, after 27 years in the mobile electronics industry.

Lamm will be redirecting his focus on his music career.

Lamm began with Fusion in 2003 as the founding president and CEO of Fusion’s U.S. corporation. He was sought out by the New Zealand-based parent company to set up offices, staff and distribution centers to serve the NASA region (North America/South America).

Tim Sweet was promoted to vice president of operations at Digital Switching Systems LLC., the Raleigh, N.C.-based provider of electronic and mechanical switching solutions for the marine and transportation industries.

“Tim’s extensive engineering and management experience coupled with his understanding of onboard electrical and electronic systems has led him to assume this executive role,” said Eric Vaughn, CEO of DSS and parent company DNA Group Inc., in a statement.

During his tenure with DSS, Sweet has served in multiple engineering and purchasing roles including: application and product innovation, sales, training, and distribution management.

Sweet is a graduate of Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada, and obtained his MBA from the University of Toronto. He is a Certified Purchasing Manager and a Certified Production and Inventory Manager. Sweet also chaired the Power Distribution Systems Working Group for the National Electrical Manufacturers Association’s 2000 Standards Committee.
