Sea Ray plant hits safety milestonePosted on
Workers at Sea Ray Boats’ Riverview plant in Knoxville, Tenn., have reached the milestone of 4 million work hours without a lost-time incident.
“Safety is no stranger to Sea Ray’s plants. It’s part of who we are and how we build boats,” said Rick Stone, president of Sea Ray, in a statement. “Still, this is a remarkable accomplishment that took more than four years to achieve.”
A lost-time incident is an injury to an employee that prevents him or her from returning to work the next day. The Riverview facility reached 4 million time-loss-free hours Sept. 12, after completing four years and 10 days of safe operation.
Sea Ray has 310 employees at its Riverview plant, which manufacturers Sport Boats and Sport Cruisers from 24 to 31 feet.
