Skeeter expands operations

Posted on

Skeeter Products recently completed a capital expansion program at the company’s Kilgore, Texas, manufacturing plant to accommodate the future growth of its boatbuilding operations.

The new 25,000-square-foot warehouse allows the company to store all of its raw materials in one central location. The space will feature adjustable racking systems, designated office space, and multiple truck docks to accommodate shipping and receiving.

“We began construction on our capital expansion project in February of this year and hope that this will provide a better working environment for our materials and our employees,” said Mike Taylor, Skeeter’s vice president of operations. “This will increase our efficiency, providing a more streamlined approach to the unloading of materials, and then transferring these materials to the production line.”

The completion of the new warehouse was the third phase of the company’s capital expansion plans, which also included a new research-and-development center and a mold storage facility.
