Burger finds one of its boats from 1939

Posted on

Burger Boat Company has purchased Angus, a rare 48-foot steel-hulled Burger Cruiser built in 1939.

Arriving at the company earlier this week, the 69-year-old yacht made a brief stop at the Wisconsin Maritime Museum before continuing to the Burger yard.

Angus will be restored to promote Burger and its employees, and to celebrate the builder’s heritage. She will also be made available to the Wisconsin Maritime Museum for fund-raising purposes. Burger is a longtime supporter of the museum.

Angus has never seen salt water and has had three owners who have kept her properly maintained, including her 70-hp Kahlenberg engine.

Based in Manitowoc, Wis., Burger designs and builds custom motoryachts in aluminum and steel to 200 feet.
