NMMA says summer boating was steady, despite fuel costsPosted on
The high price of fuel this summer may have changed some boating habits, but it didn’t stop people from going boating altogether, according to a survey released by the National Marine Manufacturers Association.
The 2008 summer fuel survey examined the effects fuel prices had on boat owners’ habits. About 80 percent said they took their boats out less often, but only 1 percent of traditional powerboat owners said they stopped boating because of fuel costs.
