NOAA amends California marine sanctuary rules

Posted on

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration recently amended regulations affecting national marine sanctuaries in California.

The affected sanctuaries include the Gulf of the Farallones, Monterey Bay and Cordell Bank. The amendments address a number of issues, including the introduction of new species, discharges from cruise ships and other vessels, anchoring in seagrass, deserting vessels, and use of PWC.

The effective date for these amendments will be announced separately.
