Tracker says plant closing will improve operations

Posted on

Tracker Marine Group is relocating production of its three saltwater brands to “resize operations to align with the market.”

Over the next few months Tracker will be moving production of its Mako, Seacraft and Kenner brands from Forest City, N.C., to other manufacturing plants. The move is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2009.

“Our realignment will result in better use of resources, with better efficiencies and continued improvement in production quality,” said Terry Shook, senior vice president of operations for Tracker, in a statement.

Despite the ongoing slump in marine sales, Tracker says it continues to gain market share where its brands compete.
