AMI getting kids involved in National Marina Day

Posted on

The Association of Marina Industries partnered with the National Youth Marine Alliance for next year’s National Marina Day, scheduled for Aug. 8.

The NYMA invites marinas to participate in Preserve America’s Waterways, led by the Boy Scouts of America, another NYMA partner. This national initiative was set up to help marina operators host a youth service project at their facilities to keep waterways clean.

AMI says it formed the partnership in recognition of the role marinas have in getting kids to appreciate the nation’s waterways and enhance their awareness of the sensitive water and waterfront environments. The partnership gives marinas an opportunity to work with their future customers and teach them the value of the waterfront and the fun of recreational boating.
