Help wanted: Northwest MTA seeks new president

Posted on

The Northwest Marine Trade Association is searching for a new president to replace Michael Campbell, who will step down in June after 10 years with the organization.

“Michael Campbell has been a tremendous leader for this organization,” said Patrick Baker, vice chairman of the NMTA. “He brought a new culture to NMTA that fosters growth and participation from volunteer leaders, staff and the membership as a whole. He has been a tireless promoter of our industry, and his passion for boating has inspired those around him.”

Campbell has led the trade group through one of its most prominent periods, growing the association-owned Seattle Boat Show into the largest show on the West Coast and its membership base to nearly 900 businesses during his tenure, according to the NMTA.

He was instrumental in unifying the industry in the area, forging a partnership with Seattle-based Northwest Yacht Brokers Association. For years, NMTA and NYBA competed for consumer and industry attention by producing boat shows at the same time in separate locations.

NMTA has formed a search committee to select the next president. The new president/CEO is slated to take over July 1. Click here for a job description and application details.
