Mass. MTA names new co-chairsPosted on
The Massachusetts Marine Trades Association welcomed new co-chairs to the state’s Legislative Boating Caucus.
State Rep. Paul Kujawski (D-Webster) and state Sen. Michael Morrissey (D-Quincy) were named to the caucus. Caucus chairman and founder Anthony Verga (D-Gloucester) completed his term.
Verga founded the caucus in 2004 to help protect small waterfront and inland marine businesses that comprise a statewide industry that contributes nearly $2 billion annually to Massachusetts.
“As I complete my tenure as caucus chair, I am confident that Sen. Morrissey and Rep. Kujawski will continue a tradition of an active and engaged membership that works cooperatively and completely,” Verga said in a statement.
Throughout his 14-year legislative career, Verga championed key initiatives critical to expanding small business growth, public access and boating safety.
In 2007 Sen. Morrissey and Rep. Kujawski each received a Legislator of the Year Award from the MMTA.
