Power Cruising to merge with Motor BoatingPosted on
Bonnier Corp. is discontinuing its Power Cruising magazine and will merge the editorial content with Motor Boating, beginning with the March issue.
“The decision to end the printing of Power Cruising did not come easily, but the current economic difficulties that are plaguing the industry required a change in course,” said Glenn Hughes, group publisher for the Bonnier Marine Group, in a statement.
Launched in 2004, Power Cruising will suspend operations as a print magazine following the January/February issue, according to Bonnier. Power Cruising will continue as an online component at www.powercruisingmag.com. An e-newsletter targeting active coastal cruisers will launch in 2009, according to the company.
Chris Cornell, editor of Power Cruising, will continue to lead the online component. He also will serve as a senior editor at Motor Boating.
