Enterprise Florida says its effort to promote the states recreational marine industry have been successful, and plans to continue its work with pavilions at the upcoming Dusseldorf show in Germany, the Dubai International Boat Show and the Moscow Boat Show.
Enterprise Florida’s first pavilion at last years Dubai International Boat Show included 23 exhibitors. Collectively, these companies netted sales of more than $1.2 million, and expected sales of $116 million for the succeeding year, according to the group.
“The goal has been to increase exports and help the marine industry weather the economic downturn,” said Manny Mencía, Enterprise Florida’s senior vice president for international trade and business development.
“Recruitment for Dubai has just concluded with our selling out two Florida pavilions,” said Julie Balzano, marine industry specialist for Enterprise Florida. “We have 22 Florida companies as confirmed exhibitors.”
Enterprise Florida has partnered with marine associations and supported economic development organizations across the state to support this global initiative.
Orlando-based Enterprise Florida is a partnership between Florida’s business and government leaders and is the principal economic development organization for the state.
