New Jersey trade association offers scholarshipsPosted on
The Marine Trades Association of New Jersey is handing out three education scholarships for the 2009-10 school year for students interested in a marine industry career.
The $3,000 MTA/NJ Education Scholarship can be applied toward any marine trades program at any school. The MTA/NJ was able to double the amount of the scholarship this year, thanks in part to a $1,500 scholarship award from the Marine Retailers Association of America.
Also, Pennco Tech School in Blackwood, N.J., and the Automotive Training Center in Pennsylvania each are sponsoring full scholarships to students interested in their Marine Technician Program and/or Marine Service Technology Program.
All three scholarships are open to any New Jersey resident who has recently graduated high school or is currently enrolled in a post-secondary vocational program. The applicant must show an intent in pursuing a career in the recreational marine industry in New Jersey.
