Nordic Tugs brings back its 26-footer

Posted on

Nordic Tugs is reintroducing the classic Nordic Tug 26 at the Seattle Boat Show, which runs through Feb. 1.

The Nordic Tug 26 debuted in 1980 at the Seattle Boat Show, but the company stopped production in 1997.

“The Nordic Tug 26 is as popular today as it was in the ’80s,” said David Goehring, president of Nordic Tugs, in a statement. “We consistently received inquiries about whether we would consider building the boat again, and with the current state of the economy, we’ve seen a shift in consumer interest from our larger to our smaller models.”

In 2007, Nordic Tugs began exporting boats into the European market and has since expanded worldwide.

“The Nordic Tug 26 is the ideal size to navigate the shallow canals and low bridge clearances in Europe. All things considered, we felt the timing was right to bring back the 26,” Goehring said.
