ProBoat E-Training ‘open house’ offers glimpse of curriculum

Posted on

ProBoat E-Training will hold a weeklong online “open house” to allow marine professionals a sample of the courses currently available.

Scheduled for Jan. 12-16, the open house will feature course outlines, instructor bios and excerpts from the following ongoing courses:

• New Tools for Trainers
• Rhino for Marine Designers
• Propeller Selection for Boats and Small Ships
• Wordsmithing the Marine-Survey Report
• Color-Matching Gelcoat
• Load Capacity and Flotation

Open house participants will also be able to see ProBoat’s newest online offering, Introduction to Marine Electrical Systems (part one), which will open this winter.

Participants can review presentations that were made at COMITT 2008 in Fort Lauderdale, find out about teaching online, investigate cooperative ventures, and see what new classes are in the works at ProBoat E-Training.

Targeted discussions about e-learning will be hosted throughout the week by ProBoat E-Training manager Barbara Jean Walsh. Topics include online chats, interactive video, file sharing, blogging, and virtual worlds.
