Tracker merges manufacturing operationsPosted on
Tracker Marine Group is consolidating its aluminum-boat manufacturing operations in response to “continuing evidence of tight credit and soft consumer demand for new boats.”
The Springfield, Mo.-based boatbuilder announced Monday that it is moving all aluminum-boat production to its Lebanon, Mo., plant. Relocation of operations from the Bolivar, Mo., plant will take place during the next couple of months.
“Our realignment will result in better use of resources with better efficiencies and continued improvement in production quality,” said Terry Shook, senior vice president of operations, in a statement. “Our flexible operations in Lebanon give us production capacity to respond with appropriate volume as market conditions dictate.”
The move could affect as many as 80 workers in Bolivar, but Tracker says that number may be lower because there are positions available in Lebanon and at other facilities.
