California boat show expects a boost in AprilPosted on
Producers of the 36th annual Newport Boat Show promise a buyer’s market when the show returns April 15-19 to Lido Marina Village in Newport Beach, Calif.
With boatbuilders cutting prices and offering creative incentives, boat shoppers will find unprecedented low prices, according to Duncan McIntosh Co., which produces the show. Plus, dealers are offering their own incentives, such as a free upgrade allowing buyers to design a custom interior layout, as well as cash discounts and cash back for purchases.
Financing is readily available for buyers, with rates as low as 6.78 percent fixed for 20 years, according to Duncan McIntosh. He said loans may be subject to greater scrutiny, but marine credit isn’t “frozen,” unlike some other types of consumer loans.
McIntosh says the demand for space by exhibitors has always been more than the show could accommodate, so he expects dock space to fill quickly.
