Cruisers shuts down for February

Posted on

Cruisers Yachts, of Oconto, Wis., is ceasing production for a month because of the economy, according to an AP report in the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

KCS International president Jim Viestenz told AP that employees were placed on unemployment and notified that the return date is tentatively scheduled for early March. In recent years, the company has typically shut down for a week during the winter months for inventory.

The company has undergone a series of production layoffs in recent months and has curtailed work recently due to inventory.

Viestenz could not be reached for comment this morning by Soundings Trade Only.
