Florida marina gets three ‘Clean’ designations

Posted on

Sebastian Inlet Marina was recognized by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection this week as a Clean Marina, Clean Boatyard and Clean Marine Retailer.

Sebastian is the second facility in Florida to receive all three distinctions, according to a report in TCPalm.com. Three blue DEP flags were hoisted up the marina’s flagpole earlier this week during a brief ceremony.

The marina opened last September. It was purchased by Kennedy Holdings in 2005, about six months after it was destroyed by hurricanes Frances and Jeanne in 2004, TCPalm reports. The company rebuilt the marina, incorporating Clean Marina requirements in the design.
