Marine Concepts diversifies its businessPosted on
Florida-based Marine Concepts and its sister company, JRL Ventures, are now offering dimensionally cut structural flat panels through a new partnership with Nida-Core Corp.
Nida-Core, a global company with offices in Florida, manufactures lightweight honeycomb core material used as a structural composite for such things as bulkheads and flooring. The flat panels free up floor space, reduce final product weight, free up work force and reduce work in the process, according to Marine Concepts.
“We can cut the panels to shape with our 5-axis and 3-axis mills,” Marine Concepts president Matt Chambers told Soundings Trade Only.
Founding in 1975, Marine Concepts provides fiberglass tooling for the boating industry, serving as an extension of a boatbuilder’s engineering department. Services include design, CNC milling, plug building and mold building.
Chambers says the addition of the structural flat panels is “a natural fit” for his company.
“The economy was asking us to diversify, and this was an easy transition for us,” he said.
