Maryland legislation could give industry a boost

A Maryland lawmaker is proposing two bills in his state to help the struggling marine industry.

State Sen. John Astle, D-Annapolis, is sponsoring a bill to make marinas and boatyards eligible for property tax credits and another that would authorize grants from the state’s Waterway Improvement Fund to support the Maryland Clean Marina program, according to a report in The Capital newspaper of Annapolis.
