Sea Scouts starting waterway preservation effortPosted on
Next month, young people across the country will begin a 21-month project to preserve and protect U.S. waterways.
The project was introduced by the Sea Scouts and has blossomed into a national initiative that embraces not only Scouts but youth organizations in communities nationwide.
National Youth Marine Alliance has taken on the project management and has received a grant from the Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation to assist with the infrastructure development.
The Army Corps of Engineers has offered more than 20,000 community service project hours at sites around the country. The project starts March 31.
