Strictly Sail Chicago releases attendance figuresPosted on
Nearly 20,000 people attended this year’s Strictly Sail Chicago show, organizers said, down only 2 percent from last year’s show.
The annual show was held Jan. 29-Feb. 1 at Navy Pier and showcased nearly 150 sailboats, hundreds of accessory booths and more than 200 educational seminars.
“Strictly Sail Chicago 2009 was a tremendous success from both an attendance and sales perspective. A variety of exhibitors reported they were impressed with the high volume of foot traffic, and mentioned this year’s show resulted in the best sales results they’ve seen in recent years,” show manager Kevin Murphy said in a statement.
In its 14th year, Strictly Sail Chicago is the only all-sail show in the Midwest and is the largest indoor all-sail show in the country, according to organizers.
Strictly Sail Chicago 2009 is produced by the National Marine Manufacturers Association and endorsed by Sail America, the trade association for the sailing industry and an independent affiliate of the NMMA.
