300-plus vendors lined up for Marine Flea MarketPosted on
Producers of the annual Dania Marine Flea Market report a 20 percent increase in vendors for the four-day event, which begins Thursday at Florida’s Dania Jai Alai.
The flea market provides an outlet for vendors from the United States and Canada to sell overstocked and used marine equipment as well as “scratch and dent” merchandise or products that are obsolete as a result of model or design changes.
“In today’s economy, there are few marine-related businesses that do not find themselves with excess or outdated inventory and are anxious to liquidate that merchandise,” said Al Behrendt, originator of the Dania Marine Flea Market, in a statement.
When the flea market opens Thursday morning, more than 300 vendors will be selling new and used marine equipment, coral encrusted antiques, new and used boats, fishing tackle, diving gear, marine artwork and other boating-related items at a fraction of their retail value.
