New Web site lists, locates vintage boats

Octopus Inc. has launched PreferNo.com, an easy-to-navigate Web site for buyers of hard-to-find or vintage automobiles, boats, airplanes and real estate.

“As a collector of vintage cars and other collectibles, I’ve spent hours and hours online looking for very specific items through some traditional selling-focused Web sites. This can be frustrating and results are often limited,” said Michael Boyd, founder and president of Octopus, in a statement.

“We are reversing the logic of a traditional marketplace like eBay by allowing buyers to list what they want in exact detail and have sellers of those items approach them directly if they have a matching item. In particular, the site is arranged with autos, boats, airplanes and real estate categories,” he added.

By registering and posting items on PreferNo.com, buyers and sellers can connect directly and avoid costly commissions.

Features of PreferNo.com include a segment for buyers to post precisely what type of auto, boat, airplane or real estate property they seek. Boat details include specifications such as manufacturer, price range, year, LOA, preferred location, engine specifications and dimensional details such as beam and draft.
