Marinas seek help for low lake levelsPosted on
Marina owners near Lake Hopatcong in New Jersey say the state mishandled a planned drawdown of the lake, creating unusually low levels that could hurt the start of this season’s boating business.
As a result, the Newark Star-Ledger reports, they want the state Department of Environmental Protection to take emergency action to halt the flow of water from New Jersey’s largest freshwater lake, to allow it to replenish.
