TowBoatU.S. has two new Florida postsPosted on
TowBoatU.S. Cape Coral added two new Florida locations — one at the City Yacht Basin in Fort Myers and one at Fort Myers Beach in Siesta Isles.
Company owners Capt. Richard Paul and Capt. Jay McMillin say the new ports will decrease response times for boaters seeking non-emergency help on the Caloosahatchee River east of Fort Myers and near Bonita Springs.
Stationed at TowBoatU.S. Fort Myers is 22-foot center console response boat with 225-hp Yamaha, while TowBoatU.S. Fort Myers Beach has a 21-foot Atlas Pompano with 115-hp Yanmar diesel inboard. Both vessels have shallow drafts necessary for plying the region’s skinny waters. McMillin says the region sees may transient boaters who are unfamiliar with local waters.
“It’s very shallow around here, but the good news is the bottom is sand so we can usually get them on their way with a gentle pull,” he said in a statement.
