YachtWorld.com and Boats.com appointed Dickman Marketing as their marketing consultant.

“Their unique blend of Internet skills coupled with an in-depth knowledge of the way that yacht brokers and dealers operate will be a tremendous additional resource for our customers,” said Ian Atkins, vice president and general manager of YachtWorld.com and Boats.com, in a statement.

Dickman Marketing represents the return to agency ownership for Mike Dickman, who began his first agency in 1993. He has developed advertising and marketing campaigns for Bertram Yacht, Ferretti Yachts, Jtech (pager systems), the ATP Tour, Pershing Yachts and HMY Yacht Sales. These campaigns included traditional print, radio, television, event production and management, co-branding programs and search engine marketing campaigns.

YachtWorld.com, Boats.com and Soundings Publications are all divisions of Dominion Enterprises.

Maybe this marketing firm will realize that the small guy still exists! YachtWorld has forgotten this fact. The Mom and Pop firms with only a few boats to sell cannot afford the inflated prices YachtWorld has charged in the last few years. We do not need 800 numbers, we do not need video formats. What we need…. Is to get to the general public at a resonable rate. What we need is for them to see our boats and buy them. Ask YachtWorld how many accounts recievable they have that are unpaid. Maybe they will stop and see the new upstarts like PlanetYacht.com and see that at $99.00 per month the small guy can still exist. We do not have numerous sales people in the office with numerous offices all over the state. We are just one little office with limited resources trying to make a living.
