Applications being accepted for NBSAC postsPosted on
Applications are being accepted for the seven openings on the National Boating Safety Advisory Council.
New members each will serve a three-year term that begins in 2010 and ends Dec. 31, 2012, according to a notice published today in the Federal Register.
The seven open seats include two representatives of state officials responsible for state boating safety programs; two representatives of recreational boat and associated-equipment manufacturers and three representatives of the general public or national recreational boating organizations.
NBSAC was established by the Federal Boat Safety Act of 1971. The Secretary of Homeland Security appoints NBSAC members. The Coast Guard’s director of prevention policy is the council’s sponsor.
