Column remembers our fallen on Memorial Day

Posted on

Memorial Day allows us the chance to remember those heroes who died during military service to our country. Originally called Decoration Day, it was officially declared a national day of remembrance by President Lyndon B. Johnson in May 1966.

Rev. Mike Heese, a senior pastor of Immanuel Anglican Church in Destin, Fla., recently wrote a column about Coast Guard Machinery Technician 3rd Class, Lonnie M. Jones – just one of the countless thousands of brave men and women we honor on Memorial Day.
