Mystic hosts small-craft workshop

Posted on

Mystic Seaport will host a gathering of nearly 100 small boats as part of the John Gardner Small Craft Workshop, scheduled for June 6-7 at the museum in Mystic, Conn.

Workshop participants share their boats – including peapods, whitehalls, sharpie skiffs, wood and canvas canoes, kayaks, performance rowing craft, dories, dinghies and tenders – with other boating enthusiasts.

A limited number of spots are available for those interested in spending the night aboard the Joseph Conrad, the museum’s Danish training vessel built in 1882. The cost is $30 for Friday or Saturday night.

The weekend concludes with a group row down the Mystic River early Sunday morning.
