Sunsail sponsors Olympic sailorPosted on
Sunsail Sailing Vacations recently signed a sponsorship agreement with Zach Railey, a US Sailing Team AlphaGraphics member and Clearwater, Fla., sailor.
Railey won a silver medal at the 2008 Olympics and was named the US Sailing 2008 Sportsman of the Year. He hopes to qualify for the 2012 Olympics in the United Kingdom.
“We’re excited to announce that Sunsail is an official sponsor of Zach Railey and his campaign for 2012,” said Josie Tucci, Sunsail‘s global product manager, in a statement. “As a role model for youth sailing, Zach’s talent and passion deserve the support of America.”
Railey will launch his campaign for 2012 with a full schedule of international events planned throughout 2009 and Sunsail’s sponsorship and fund-raising support is expected to raise more than $40,000 in the first year toward Railey’s campaign costs.
“As passionate sailors ourselves, Sunsail is committed to raising the profile of sailing,” said Lex Raas, Sunsail president and CEO, in a statement. “Our goal is to enable more people to participate in the sport, whether racing, learning to sail, or relaxing on a sailing vacation.”
