Bellingham completes work at California yacht clubPosted on
Renovation work was recently completed at Coronado Cays Yacht Club in Southern California.
Bellingham Marine completed installation of the new D and E docks in late April, just in time for the club’s 2009 opening-day celebration on May 2.
New electrical and mechanical systems were installed with 30/30 receptacles at each power center and a 50A receptacle at each end tie. Existing electrical, telephone and cable main feeds were re-used in the renovation as well as existing gangways.
The existing slips on docks D and E were replaced with longer and wider double berth slips increasing the average slip length between the two docks from 31.8 feet to 35 feet.
The existing piles were pulled and new prestressed concrete piles were driven. New hose bibs and fire hose cabinets with equipment were also installed. In addition an ADA compliant gangway was added to B dock.
“The upgraded slips are appreciated by the members,” said Alan Sweetow, the club’s port captain, in a statement. “We’re looking forward to replacing the club’s three remaining docks in coming years.
The B dock was rebuilt by Bellingham Marine in 2001.
