CCP announces price increase

Posted on

Cook Composites and Polymers will increase the price for all unsaturated polyester and vinylester resins, gelcoats and Thermaclean products by five cents per pound.

The price increase will be in effect for shipments made on or after July 6.

“In the past few months, crude oil has escalated rapidly leading to price increases in key raw materials,” the company said in as statement. “As always, every effort is being investigated relative to cost containment and uninterrupted supply. We acknowledge the impact these costs have on our customers and appreciate your support, which allows CCP the opportunity to meet your needs with quality and innovative products.”

Did they cut prices sharply when oil dropped to $35 per barrel from $170 per barrel?  We are finding that some polyethylene suppliers have been scamming their customers by not reducing prices when oil prices go down but quickly raising prices when oil prices go up.
