060209_daoustInterlux appointed Fred Daoust general manager, North America. In addition to his North America responsibilities, Daoust joins the Akzo Nobel Yacht Coatings Executive Group, a management group focusing on global business and development strategies.

Daoust has been with Interlux for 20 years and most recently served as vice president sales, Northern region.

He will divide his time between corporate headquarters in Union, N.J., and the sales office in Ontario.

“I am delighted to accept this opportunity from the company,” Daoust said in a statement. “I look forward to moving us ahead in these challenging times and building on the tremendous base that we currently have.”

Bay Ship & Yacht Co. hired systems engineer, project manager and designer Capt. Benjamin Chisholm as systems specialist in its naval architect and marine engineering department.

Chisholm’s background includes serving as engineer and project manager for numerous large yachts (power and sail), naval architects and yacht design firms.

Bay Ship & Yacht first worked with Chisholm when he served as engineer and project manager for a motoryacht that was lengthened from 107 to 140 feet.

Founded in 1977, Bay Ship & Yacht Co. is a privately held shipyard located in Alameda, Calif.
